Marty has had a long and successful career in the book and publishing industry. He worked for several large Canadian retailers and publishing companies in senior marketing positions before he founded Fairmount Books Inc., a large national book distribution company that marketed books to independent and major retailers and mass merchandisers in Canada, the US and 35 countries abroad.
A past nominee of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Award, Marty has walked the walk of building an organization from the ground up. Now retired from Fairmount Books, Marty is excited to work with the next generation of business leaders, offering business coaching and consulting, mentorship, and support to individuals and companies facing obstacles to growth. He has served in senior leadership on several not-for-profit boards and in a variety of volunteer positions, including past Chair of Crohn's and Colitis Canada and on the Board of Directors of The Association of Canadian Book Wholesalers.
Marty holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Concordia University in Montreal and has a coaching certificate from the Certified Coaching Federation. He and his wife enjoy travelling and spending time with their five children and four grandchildren. He is also an avid photographer.
